This morning we continue on our journey through Romans and our sermon series Gospel Talk. Our main text is Romans 1:14 - 17. Sermon Points are as follows:
Our focus this morning was the phrase The Righteousness of God.
1.) The Sin Situation
a.) IMPUTE is to think of as belonging to someone therefore to cause it to belong to that person
2.) The Set Standard
a.) Be HOLY as GOD is HOLY
b.) Be PERFECT as your HEAVENLY FATHER is PERFECT.
3.) RIGHTEOUSNESS: PERFECTLY meeting THE SET STANDARD
a.) God is a RIGHTEOUS JUDGE
b.) How can ANYONE be SAVED??
4.) The Savior Solution
a.) JUSTIFICATION: to be declared NOT GUILTY
b.) JUSTIFICATION not ONLY have YOUR SINS BEEN PAID FOR, but GOD has DECLARED that YOU PERFECTLY met the SET STANDARD
5.) THE DEATH OF CHRIST PAID THE WAGE FOR OUR SINS
a.) The RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD, which was FULFILLED BY THE PERFECT LIFE OF CHRIST is IMPUTED to OUR ACCOUNT
b.) The JOT refers to yod (י), this is the SMALLEST LETTER in the Hebrew alphabet
c.) The TITTLE is a small mark in a Hebrew letter

When we talk to God...

2.) Be RELENTLESS
a.) How important is the REQUEST you are making to GOD...TO YOU?
3.) Be RELIANT
a.) Our PRAYER has NO POWER... WHO we PRAY TO has ALL POWER!
b.) Make REQUEST...But REMEMBER that the SUCCESS of your REQUEST...RELIES ON HIM!
4.) Be REDUCED
a.) God's answers to your prayers are about HIS WILL...and not YOUR WANTS
b.) When we REDUCE ourselves in our Prayers the REASONS for our REQUESTS become CROSS FOCUSED (SAINTS and SALVATION)...not COMFORT FOCUSED (SELF, SAFE and SIN)
