Salvation is Christ + nothing

As we continue in our study of Colossians we find ourselves in chapter 2. We learned about the concerns Paul had for the Colossians and how Jesus and the truth of Christ should remain their first commitment. Sermon notes and reference verses are as follows:

 

1.) Paul wants the Colossians knit together in Love...

Not the world's philosophies

2.) We are complete in Christ...

Not because anyone says we are

3.)  Jewish law-keepers believe they were justified by their works in the law...

4.)  Physical circumcision and baptism are replaced by spiritual circumcision and baptism

5.)  Pegan law-keepers believe they are justified by honoring certain holidays

        Big Idea: The world has so many different ideas of what and how salvation comes...
