We continue our series Abandoned.  Our pastor digs deep into Romans 1:14 - 27.  Sermon points are as follows:

Intro:

Romans 1:24

THEREFORE...

1.)  because men "suppress the truth in unrighteousness" (Romans 1:18 )

2.)  because "though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks" (Romans 1:21)

3.)  because men" exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures." (Romans 1:23)

 

Romans 1:25 (KEY)

ANY "FALSE TRUTH" (LIE) that is put in the place of GOD'S TRUTH is...

IDOLATRY

 

Points:

1.)   TRUTH is...based on what GOD SAID

        not on what WE "SEE" 

      a.)  TRUTH is...CREATOR BASED (HIS INSTRUCTION)

            not CULTURE BASED (OUR INFLUENCE)

2.)  TRUTH is...based on GOD'S FACTS

     not YOUR "FEELINGS" 

3.)  We have ABANDONED GOD'S DESIGN for OUR OWN DESIGN

      a.)  We have ABANDONED what GOD'S DESIRES for OUR OWN DESIRES

           1.)  The GREATEST IDOL in YOUR LIFE is YOU!

           2.)  We have to ADJUST OUR LIFESTYLES To GOD'S TRUTH...
